Ingredients
Scale
Gather these simple ingredients, and you’ll be ready to create a dish that’s sure to impress with minimal effort.
- 1 head of fresh broccoli, cut into florets
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for added zest)
- Red pepper flakes for heat (optional)
Feel free to substitute the Parmesan with nutritional yeast for a dairy-free version or add a dash of lemon zest for an extra punch of flavor.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to make cleanup a breeze.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Make sure each floret is nicely coated—that’s where all the flavor is.
- Spread the broccoli in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. This ensures even roasting, giving you those delicious crispy edges.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender and slightly browned. I like mine with a bit of char for that smoky flavor.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. The heat from the broccoli will melt the cheese beautifully.
- If desired, drizzle with lemon juice and add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick. Serve warm and enjoy!
Remember, cooking is about experimenting. If you find a step or ingredient that works better for you, go for it!
