Sizzling Honey BBQ Chicken: A Sweet and Savory Summer Delight

Learn how to make delicious Sizzling Honey BBQ Chicken. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for a little kick)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

If you don’t have smoked paprika, regular paprika works just fine. And if cayenne isn’t your thing, feel free to leave it out. This recipe, like all great home-cooked meals, is adaptable to your family’s tastes.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. If you’re cooking indoors, a well-seasoned cast-iron skillet works beautifully.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. This is your marinade and basting sauce.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish and pour half of the marinade over them. Let them sit for at least 15 minutes to soak up those flavors. If you have more time, letting them marinate for a few hours in the fridge will make the flavors even more pronounced.
  4. Once your grill is hot, lightly oil the grates or the skillet. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the breasts. Look for a nice caramelized char on each side.
  5. As the chicken cooks, use a brush to baste it with the remaining marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  6. Once the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F, remove it from the heat. Let it rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  7. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
