Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Feel free to swap the beef stew meat for chuck roast if you prefer, and for a little heat, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper. These substitutions allow you to tweak the recipe to fit your family’s taste buds perfectly.
Instructions
- Start by preparing your slow cooker. I like to give it a light spray with cooking oil to prevent sticking.
- In a large bowl, combine the beef stew meat, BBQ sauce, beef broth, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated.
- Transfer the beef mixture into the slow cooker, spreading it out evenly.
- Set your slow cooker on low and let it work its magic for 6-8 hours. You’ll know it’s ready when the beef is tender and easily falls apart with a fork.
- Give the mixture a good stir before serving, ensuring all those glorious juices are well distributed.
Pro tip: If you need it done faster, you can cook it on high for 3-4 hours, but I find the low setting yields the most tender results.
