Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
For the Gochujang Dipping Sauce:
- 3 tablespoons gochujang
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon water (to thin, if necessary)
If you can’t find gochujang, try substituting with a mix of red chili paste and a dash of soy sauce. It won’t be exactly the same, but it will still be delicious!
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, gochujang, and grated ginger. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the beef pieces to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more intense flavor.
- While the beef marinates, prepare the gochujang dipping sauce by mixing gochujang, rice vinegar, soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil in a small bowl. Adjust the thickness with water if needed.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef. Cook, turning occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Transfer the beef bites to a serving platter, and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately with the gochujang dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy the bold flavors and remember, don’t be afraid to get a little messy!
