Ingredients
Scale
Here’s everything you need to bring these delicious bites to life:
- 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Feel free to substitute gochujang with sriracha for a different kind of heat or adjust the honey for more or less sweetness.
Instructions
- Start by marinating the beef: In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, gochujang, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar. Add the beef cubes and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours if you have the time.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of oil and cook the beef in batches to avoid overcrowding. Sear each piece for about 2-3 minutes per side until browned and sticky.
- Reduce the heat to medium and return all the beef to the skillet. Pour any remaining marinade over the beef and simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and caramelize.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
My little kitchen helpers love to sprinkle the sesame seeds—a task that makes them feel like head chefs for a moment!
