Ingredients
Scale
This recipe is as flexible as it is flavorful. Here’s what you’ll need to create your own little bowl of paradise:
- 1 cup fresh pineapple, diced
- 1 cup mango, diced (ripe but firm)
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 kiwi, peeled and sliced
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1 cup seedless grapes, halved
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for added sweetness)
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
If you don’t have all these fruits on hand, don’t worry! This salad is very forgiving. Swap out or add in whatever tropical fruits you love. Papaya, dragon fruit, or even a handful of blueberries can be excellent additions.
Instructions
- Start by washing all your fruit thoroughly. It’s a step my mom never skipped, and neither should you.
- Dice the pineapple and mango into bite-sized pieces. Remember, the key is to keep everything roughly the same size for an even mix.
- Hull and slice the strawberries, then peel and slice the kiwi and banana.
- Cut the grapes in half to release their juicy sweetness.
- In a large bowl, gently toss all the fruit together.
- Drizzle the lime juice over the fruit and add honey if you desire a sweeter touch.
- Gently toss everything again to make sure the lime juice coats all the fruit pieces.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a refreshing aroma and pop of color.
And there you have it—a bowl full of sunshine! This recipe is a testament to the fact that you don’t need a thousand steps to create something wonderful.
